A quick, 5-ingredient dessert dip that combines rich, warm caramel sauce with thick, tangy Greek yogurt for a light yet indulgent treat.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup plain full-fat Greek yogurt
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter
  • 1/2 cup dark brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons heavy cream
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of flaky sea salt

Instructions

  1. Place a small saucepan over medium-low heat and melt the unsalted butter, swirling occasionally until fully liquid (2-3 minutes).
  2. Add the brown sugar to the melted butter and stir constantly with a whisk or spatula until the sugar dissolves and the mixture is smooth and bubbling (3-4 minutes).
  3. Carefully pour in the heavy cream. The mixture will bubble vigorously; stir immediately to incorporate. Cook for another 2-3 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly and coats the back of a spoon. Remove from heat.
  4. Stir in the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Let the caramel sauce cool for 5-10 minutes until warm to the touch, not hot.
  5. Scoop the Greek yogurt into a medium mixing bowl. If the yogurt is very thick, stir it slightly to loosen it.
  6. Pour the warm caramel sauce into the yogurt. Gently fold the caramel into the yogurt using a spatula, starting from the bottom and folding over to create a marbled effect.
  7. Cover the bowl and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes to allow the dip to set and flavors to meld before serving.

Notes

Ensure the caramel is warm, not hot, when adding it to the yogurt to prevent separation. For a thicker dip, strain the Greek yogurt through cheesecloth for 30 minutes prior to use. This dip does not freeze well as the yogurt texture may become grainy. Store in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 5 days.
